Airtight Tubing Style Ducting
We can provide a tighter duct option – Leak Free Tubing is a laser welded, airtight duct in a clamp connection style. If you are familiar with popular European tubing products,, you’ll understand the value of a truly strong, airtight clamping connection. Because our tubing product is made right here in the USA – there are no over seas shipping delays and you can get even custom products in days – not weeks.
In diameters from 4″-18″ and a variety of gauges and metals, Leak Free Tubing’s airtight ducting provides the tightness of a flange and gasket seal with the convenience of a clamp together connection system. We manufacture this modular metal tubing system, commonly called ducting or pipework, for mist collection, dust extraction, bulk handling, ventilation and low pressure conveying – anywhere that leaking is NOT an option. All parts are fully welded and designed to provide an airtight seal. Our ductwork is available with either a fast clamp-connection or a standard bolt together flange. Both are available in galvanized, stainless and painted carbon steel. Clamp-Connect tubing is produced in diameters from 4″ to 18″ and available in standard 16 gauge. Options for 22 to 14 gauge thicknesses are available, where needed.
Leak Free Tubing on Oil Mist
Mist collection and conveying presents its own unique challenges. If you have standard spiral or normal clamp-connect ducting on your coolant mist collection system, I’ll bet you’ve got ugly dark trickles running down your ductwork, drips on your machinery, and possibly even puddles or slick spots on your floors. And no matter how carefully you install the pipe, seal, patch and clean, the constant drip, drip, drip continues.
That’s because normal dust collection ducting is not airtight. And, as you’ve no doubt discovered, liquid mist from machining operations will always find the weak point.
But Leak Free Tubing is not only airtight, it’s MIST-TIGHT!
All seams can be fully welded, not just caulked or sealed.
Custom lengths and an adjustable sleeve for field adjustments
Leak Free Tubing is manufactured with special machinery to make sure we have an airtight seal between each joint.
Our clamp and gasket system has been tested to hold pressures to +/- 10 psi (276.8”WG or 0.689 bar.)
Gaskets are available in EPDM, Red Silicone or Viton.
Materials include galvanized steel, carbon steel and 304 or 316 stainless steel
Tubing is available in pipe diameters from 4” to 18” diameter.
Other clamp-connect pipe is designed to move air from point A to B, not to be airtight. And if it’s not airtight, it’s going to leak. Period.
So whether you’re installing a new mist collection system or making changes to one already in place, US Tubing lets you stop worrying about leaky duct so you can focus more on things that are important to you.
Eliminate Spills & Buildup with our Oil Mist Curbs and Accumulators
Anyone that has designed and/or installed fume/mist extraction for an oil mist application knows the frustration of installing the system and then seeing oil collect at the top of the machine or worse, run down the side of the machine onto the floor. The problem is the fact that the flex hose is so hard to connect to the machine. You simply can’t get the worm clamp tight enough to seal and putting the hose ‘into’ the pickup is not the answer.
We have the solution for the problem in the form of an Oil Mist Curb. How does it stop the leak from the flex hose? It doesn’t. You can’t. But what you can do is collect the oil before it becomes a problem and let it drain back into the machine.
The Oil Mist Curb, is attached to the unit as a standard adapter or as a flange adapter. The flex hose attaches to the top with a worm clamp. As the oil leaks (and it will) it leaks into a curb that is fully welded around the diameter of the unit. Weep holes are drilled around the inside parameter where the curb meets the adapter. As the oil collects it ‘weeps’ back into the machine.
For systems that carry a significant amount of affluent/oil through the duct to a collector and need to reduce the burden on the collector, an Oil Mist Accumulator can be installed inline to help reclaim mist from the air stream. The accumulator houses a series of screens inside a fully welded, leak free casing and coalesces oil/mist inside the container which then drains into a tube and into a capture container.
Installing an Oil Mist Curb and Accumulator is a simple way to make sure the job remains clean – and successful.
